Founded and sponsored by the Sisters of St. Francis of Philadelphia, Neumann is a private, Catholic, co-educational College in the Franciscan tradition, which emphasizes respect for individuals, concern for the environment, and social responsibility. The College offers undergraduate degrees in a broad variety of subjects, six graduate programs, and an accelerated bachelor's degree program for adults. Neumann now fields fifteen NCAA athletic teams, is home to six performing arts groups, has three new residence halls that accommodate more than 500 students, and recently launched new programs in athletic training and criminal justice. The student-faculty ratio of 14:1 allows professors to provide the personal attention for which Neumann is famous. This expansion of programs and services, coupled with the College's commitment to first-rate academic instruction and real-world career preparation, has caused Neumann's popularity to boom in recent years.
