Mount Aloysius College is a small, private, comprehensive, Catholic, liberal arts college sponsored by the Sisters of Mercy. Established in 1853, the college today specializes in both undergraduate and graduate education. Since the founding of the college, 11,000 students have become Mount Aloysius College alumni. The college is proud of its commitment to small classroom size and providing a highly structured environment. The college boasts of a 14:1 student to faculty ratio. Many of Mount Aloysius College students come from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, but also a large portion come from the states contiguous of Pennsylvania. Current states represented on campus include: Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Vermont, Virginia, and West Virginia. Seventy percent of the college's students are women. There are approximately 1200 full time students and 800 part time students.

Loans: Through the Office of Financial Aid, the College assists its students in applying for state and federal grants, loans, and work-study awards. In 2004, the College awarded more than 11 million in student financial aid. Ninety (90) percent of the college's students receive some form of financial aid. The College has appeared in US News and World Report as the number one (#1) private, liberal arts college in the northeast for graduating students with the least amount of student loan debt. Loans offered include Stafford, Parent Plus, and alternative grants and scholarships.
Scholarships: Mount Aloysius College recognizes the expense involved in acquiring a liberal arts education and encourages all students to apply for all available aid. Mount Aloysius offers more than $2 million each year in scholarships and has more than 60 endowed scholarships. The College does award academic monies based on QPA and SAT/ACT. They are renewable over a four-year period and range from $1,000-$10,000 per year. Mount Aloysius College participates in all federal and state programs. Specific Scholarship Programs include: Mercy Presidential Scholarship, Merit Scholarships, English Fellowship, Biology Fellowship, History/Political Science Fellowship, Theatre Scholarship, Vox Nova Scholarship (for choral music ensemble members) and Mary Cypher Madden Scholarships for graduates of Catholic high schools.

Mount Aloysius College offers students a values-based, four-year, co-educational, comprehensive, liberal arts education. The College is located in Cresson, Pennsylvania. Founded in 1853 as an academy by the Sisters of Mercy, Mount Aloysius began offering baccalaureate degrees in 1991. Since 1853, more than 10,000 students have graduated with baccalaureate and associate degrees. Mount Aloysius enrolls approximately 1,600 students of which 1,125 are full-time undergraduates.
Rigorous academics, career preparation, and your personal and professional success are what we are all about. Student activities and participation in sports round out your college experience. Currently a member of the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA), the Mount Aloysius Athletics program was granted provisional NCAA Division III status beginning in Fall 2004. Mount Aloysius athletes compete in 11 sports.
