America's Environmental College Unity College proudly offers the largest number of environmental programs of any college in the U.S. Unity students typically reflect their love of the outdoors in their education and career choices. Graduates are ready for professions that are dedicated to sustaining the earth's natural resources and for citizenship in a world of global, human, and environmental concerns. Our education is a unique combination of the traditional liberal arts with an emphasis on natural resource management, intended to prepare graduates for responsible stewardship of the earth. Such an education must be an empowering, in-depth study that prepares graduates to address specific environmental issues; at the same time, a broad liberal arts base enables them to anticipate and deal creatively with issues yet unimagined. An education dedicated to the environment must go beyond classroom wall; thus, Unity College combines academic rigor with equally demanding field experience. Students learn not only in class but through myriad sources: laboratories, field experience, service learning, internships, work, recreation, and community living. It's real hands-on stuff: active, direct, practical learning that brings hands, head, and the whole person into contact with real-life experience.
