Description: The Madrid Campus course offerings, taught by over 100 faculty members, fulfill degree requirements for 85 undergraduate majors available through
Saint Louis
University . This variety permits study abroad students to design their own programs; it also makes the study abroad experience available to students pursuing degrees for which it is not always an option--engineering or nursing, for example. Students majoring in Spanish, Communication, Political Science/International Relations, Economics, and Business Administration/International Business can complete their entire degree on the Madrid Campus; students majoring in English are required to spend one semester in
St. Louis . Other degree majors transfer after two or three years to either the University's St. Louis Campus or elsewhere to finish their degrees.
Since the Madrid Campus is home to 650 students from across
Spain and around the world, the language of instruction for most classes is English, although opportunities abound for students desiring immersion in Spanish language and culture. The campus sponsors a wide range of extracurricular activities, both on and off campus, including trips that deepen students’ cultural understanding of
Spain or that complement their studies by bringing them to other destinations, including major European cities,
Africa and
South America . All courses and programs offered are fully accredited in both the
U.S. and
Madrid .
Setting:
Saint Louis
University – Madrid Campus is located in the university area of
Madrid , on the northwest side of the city, with superb metro (subway) and bus access to the entire urban area. The center of the city is barely a 30-minute walk away.
The campus is comprised of four buildings, which house its classrooms, library, science and computer labs, art studio, music practice rooms, cafeteria, student center, and faculty and staff offices. Most visiting students choose to live with Spanish host families, though housing in shared apartments or in nearby colegio mayores (dormitories for students attending Spanish universities) is also available.

North America . All new degree-seeking applicants are considered for
Madrid merit-based scholarships and have the option to apply for a campus work grant.
U.S. citizens and permanent residents who have completed the FAFSA may be eligible for
Saint Louis
University need-based aid.
